Background & History:

The Barrow Bay & District Sport Fishing Association  is a non-profit organization of  concerned anglers, residents and associates who reside or who have seasonal residences primarily in the vicinity of Barrow Bay and Lion's Head, Ontario, Canada.  Since its establishment in 1993 the  BB&DSFA has grown to become one of the largest Sports Fishing Associations on the Bruce Peninsula.

Today we have a membership of 92 of whom 72 are also members of The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters

Association Objectives

As with many sport fishing associations, the main objective is to enhance the sports fishery and specifically around the Barrow Bay, Lions Head, Stokes Bay and Mid-Bruce Peninsula area. The Association has concentrated its efforts on Fish Habitat Improvement Programs such as the restoration of "Judges Creek". The Association emphasizes natural habitat development and has initiated the process necessary for the implementation of a fish sanctuary to protect spawning Rainbow Trout.

In order to provide cool fresh water to ultimately guarantee good fishing opportunities the Barrow Bay and District Sport Fishing Association became the sole supporters of a program which had initiated much of the upstream restoration work in this small watershed.
